As a dancer from the age of 4, Lisa began her teaching career in 1983. In 1984 She began teaching at Premiere Dance Academy where she became the Owner and Artistic Director of the studio.
Lisa is kept very busy with teaching, adjudicating, giving workshops choreographing and from coast to coast in Canada.
Lisa has other undertakings such as…choreographed the Opening Ceremonies of the World Police Fire Games(1997), Lisa Choreographed an Opening Ceremony Piece (September 2014 for the Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club for their 20th Anniversary.
Lisa is also a Co-Director of Hats Off Management Group, that produce many dance and singing shows (Calgary Junior Singing Idol) and other performance venues, and a wonderful Summer Dance Intensive Workshop for Competitive Dancers. In 2015 she was honoured to receive the accolades of Inspirational Albertan for CTV News Calgary.
Josh Nitkin has been a dancer and performer for over 25 years. Having trained in Tap, Jazz, Acrobatics, Ballet, Modern, Hip Hop, Swing, Breakdancing, Lyrical and Contemporary. Josh has a full arsenal under his belt. In the last few years Josh has done a number of shows with lead roles including Hines in The Pajama Game, Reverend Parris in The Crucible and Nikko in The Wizard of Oz. Josh has also done several contracts with Celebrity Cruise Lines as a Production Cast Dancer performing in such shows as “The Spectacle of Broadway”, “Let’s Rock!” and “Celebrate The World” while being able to perform all over Central and South America Josh has had the opportunity to perform with many different artists, one of which is the late Gregory Hines. He has also had the opportunity to Tap with some of Canada’s top Tap dancers including Ryan Foley, David Cox, Everett Smith of So You Think You Can Dance Canada and many others. Josh has worked with PAEC (Performing Arts Educators of Canada) in creating a Hip Hop/Urban Syllabus for all to learn from. Recently Josh had the opportunity to tour with CORPUS performing all over Europe and Japan. Josh trained at Ryerson University in the dance program, and from there went to study at the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts where he studied Acting, Singing as well as Dancing
Stephanie has been studying dance for over 30 years, and is a graduate of York University with an Honours BFA Double Major in Dance and Kinesiology & Health Science. She is also a certified member of Dance Masters of America Chapter #38, the International Academy of Dance Adjudicators, and a member of the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science. Stephanie has also completed the 3rd and final year of the ADAPT Teacher Training Certification course, taught by the well known Brian and Faye Foley, earning her full teaching credentials in jazz and tap. As a Dance Adjudicator, Stephanie has been invited to travel all over Canada to adjudicate. Stephanie was trained at Durham Dance Centre in Pickering, Ontario as well as the National Ballet School of Canada, where she was a member of the Junior Associate Program. She has studied Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Modern and Pointe. Throughout her training, Stephanie had the opportunity to compete in many cities throughout Canada and the United States, including Florida and Las Vegas. She has also completed many exams with the British Association of Teachers of Dancing. Stephanie is also a founding member and Past-President of “Healthy Dancer Canada”. A Canadian organization that promotes communication between dance and medical professionals, and educates dance instructors on safe dance training practices. Stephanie is very excited to be judging this weekend, and wishes all dancers the best of luck!"
Special Guest TeacherBrandon "Bizzy" Owusu
Brandon "Bizzy" Owusu was born in Toronto Canada. He has been dancing professionally for 9 years. Brandon has trained in styles such as Dancehall, Hip Hop, and African. He has danced for artists such as Ariana Grande, French Montana, Rihanna, Drake, Sean Paul, Paula Abdul, Elephant man, and many more. He recently choreographed and artistically directed Ding Dong's "Dancehall Madness" music video. This past year Brandon was flown out to LA and had his choreography showcased on The Ellen Show. His youtube channel has accumulated over 30 million views. Brandon has worked with the following leading choreographers in the dance industry: Laurieann Gibson, Luther Brown, Jae Blaze, Blake McGrath, Tanisha Scott and many more. When Brandon is not training and performing, he is sharing his passion for dance with students at studios, conventions, community centres, schools and on youtube. His fun and outgoing personality along with his hard work ethic enables him to inspire and bring out the best in others.
